Our Commitment

The Jericho School District is committed to fostering a culture where kindness and academic excellence go hand in hand. We believe that a truly successful education is rooted not only in intellectual growth, but in empathy, respect, and a deep sense of responsibility toward others. Our commitment is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Through high-quality instruction and a focus on character development, we empower students to lead with compassion, act with integrity, and strive for excellence in all that they do—both inside and outside the classroom

A Rich History of Learning

Jericho, located in the Town of Oyster Bay on Long Island’s North Shore, is one of the oldest communities in the region. Originally settled in the mid-1600s, the area was first known as “Lusum” before being renamed Jericho by, inspired by the biblical city.

Jericho has long been a community rooted in purpose and progress. That same spirit lives on in Jericho Public Schools, where a tradition of excellence meets a commitment to innovation—empowering students to learn deeply, lead thoughtfully, and shape the future.
