The Jericho Union Free School District values opportunities to highlight the achievements, talents, and experiences of our students through partnerships with local, regional, and national media outlets. At the same time, we believe that students are entitled to an uninterrupted learning environment, and that instruction remains our highest priority.
To ensure consistency and minimize disruptions to the school day, all media inquiries and press requests must be coordinated through the Office of Public Relations.
Requests to visit specific classrooms, programs, activities, or events will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and approved based on student availability, teacher availability, instructional considerations, and the overall impact on the educational environment.
Student participation in media opportunities is voluntary. The district respects all parent and guardian media preferences and will honor any completed media opt-out requests on file.
In accordance with district policy, student names, photographs, and achievements may be shared with media organizations unless a parent or guardian has submitted a media opt-out request. The district reserves the right to determine the level of student information shared in connection with any media request and may limit or withhold identifying information when deemed appropriate.
Our goal is to celebrate student success while protecting instructional time, respecting family preferences, and ensuring a positive experience for all students involved.

The Jericho School District operates under an opt-out policy regarding district media. If parents or guardians do not notify their child’s campus administration, students are considered opted in to the district’s media policy.
This policy includes the use of student images and likenesses for district communications, official district social media channels (public accounts), and potential press-related photography or media coverage.
