Human Resources
Human Resources plays a vital role in the success of any school district by supporting the people who make learning possible every day. From recruiting and hiring exceptional educators and staff to ensuring a smooth onboarding process, Human Resources helps build a strong, dedicated workforce committed to student success.
Beyond hiring, Human Resources is essential in maintaining a positive and supportive work environment. The department oversees employee benefits, certification compliance, professional development, and labor relations—ensuring that all staff members have the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.
In schools, where people are the foundation of every program and initiative, Human Resources ensures that the right individuals are in the right roles, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and care. By prioritizing and supporting staff, Human Resources directly contributes to a safe, effective, and inspiring learning environment for all students.

The board of education recognizes that learning environments that are safe and supportive can increase student attendance and improve academic achievement. A student’s ability to learn and achieve high academic standards, and a school’s ability to educate students, is compromised by incidents of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to bullying, taunting, and intimidation. Therefore, in accordance with the Dignity for All Students Act, Education Law, Article 2, the district will strive to create an environment free of bullying, discrimination and/or harassment and will foster civility in the schools to prevent and prohibit conduct which is inconsistent with the district’s educational mission. Since cyberbullying is a form of bullying, the term “bullying” as used in this policy will implicitly include cyberbullying.
The district condemns and prohibits all forms of bullying, discrimination and/or harassment of students based on actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or sex by school employees or students on school property and at school-sponsored activities and events that take place at locations off school property. In addition, any act of bullying, discrimination and/or harassment, outside of school sponsored events, which can reasonably be expected to materially and substantially disrupt the education process may be subject to discipline.
At least one employee at every school shall be designated as the dignity act coordinator(s). The dignity act coordinator(s) will be thoroughly trained to handle human relations in the areas of race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender (identity or expression), and sex.
The district will investigate all complaints of bullying, discrimination and/or harassment, either formal or informal, and take prompt corrective measures, as necessary.
If, after an appropriate investigation, the district finds that this policy has been violated, corrective action will be taken in accordance with district policies and regulations, the Code of Conduct, and all appropriate federal or state laws.
Training will be provided each school year for all district employees in conjunction with existing professional development training to raise staff awareness and sensitivity of harassment and discrimination that are committed by students or school employees on school property or at a school function.

Registration Documents
Welcome to the Jericho Schools!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The Jericho Schools can only register your children once your children are living full time and sleeping at a house or apartment inside our district boundaries.
If you are requesting transportation only to a private or non-public school, you must still register with the school district. Please click on the “Register My Student” link below and complete the online registration application.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
The online registration process begins by checking that your address is within the Jericho School District boundaries. When you click “Register My Student” below, you will fill in your information and address. If your address lies within our school district boundaries, you will be sent an email within one school day with instructions to create a PowerSchool account and complete the rest of the registration process.
Please note that you will need to upload several documents to complete the registration process including Proof of Age (ex. birth certificate, passport, etc.), Proof of Residency (ex. deed, lease, bills, affidavits, etc.), Previous School Records (if applicable), and in some instances, Custody Agreements or Guardianship Papers. You will also be required to upload a current Health Examination form and Immunization Record from your child’s New York State doctor (or other licensed health care provider). If you do not already have a completed Health Examination form, you can download the form during the registration process.
Not to worry, the online registration application will prompt you for every required document and provide you with downloadable forms wherever necessary.

Residency re-verification means you are being asked to prove again that you still live in the place you previously claimed, usually within a school district or for a service.
Why it happens:
-
Schools (like your district) need to make sure students legally live in the district
-
Addresses can change, so they periodically reconfirm residency
-
It helps ensure fair access to services (like public education)
What you might need to provide:
Typically documents such as:
-
Utility bill (electric, water, etc.)
-
Lease agreement or mortgage statement
-
Driver’s license or government ID
-
Tax bill or official mail
Example:
If your child attends school in a district, the district may send a notice asking you to re-verify residency to confirm you still live within district boundaries.
