National Italian Exam Contest 2022

Four Jericho High School students won Gold medal awards in the 2022 National Italian Exam competition.  The winners are Kathryn Weinberger (Grade 12), Joshua Ochalek (Grade 12), Vivek Kirpalani (Grade 11), and Ethan Wang (Grade 9).  Each winner was awarded a monetary prize of $50 from the National Italian Exam organization.  Award checks for the winners were received in mid-November.

The exam is organized by the American Association of Teachers of Italian.  Exam Contest results were determined according to the national percentile distribution, and a monetary prize was determined on the basis of the national results.  All three students began their Italian language studies at Jericho Schools.  We congratulate them both on this tremendous accomplishment, and on their demonstrated outstanding proficiency in the Italian language.  Ms. Suriani, teacher of Italian, coordinated the contest at Jericho High School.
