The New York Library Association’s School Library Media Specialist 2005 Spring Conference, “Doorways to the Future” was held May 5, 6, and 7, at the Melville Marriott, Melville, New York. This was the first time this conference was held on Long Island in nine years. On Friday, May 6, Jericho’s school library media specialists Ms Bertolini, Ms Tedesco, Mrs. Mattern, Ms Ryder, Mrs. Kearon, and Mrs. Minikel attended, along with principals Mrs. Wren, Mrs. Bauer, Mr. Weissman, and Mr. Ratner.

We attended many informative workshops throughout the day. Lorraine Tedesco facilited workshops and helped with the conference.

Pat Minikel, Joan Kearon, and Denise Ryder gave a presentation about public relations and school libraries.
