Teachers Mr. Sharma and Ms. Panayiotou along withthe the sixth and seventh grade Community Service students invited children with autism from the Barrell School and Jericho Middle School Life Skills students to complete a variety of hands-on activities in our Middle School Library.
Activities:
All of the students enjoyed themselves and learned a lot about each other. The Community Service students served as role models for their guests, and in turn learned about autism. They developed an understanding of how they can help and befriend their peers who are diagnosed with autism. Mr. Shanzer assisted the students with their various art activities.
