On February 2nd, 2005 a comprehensive full day training workshop in advanced
leadership skills for 8th grade BRAVE Ambassadors was held in the Jericho
Middle School Library. The students learned group facilitation techniques
that include active listening and communication skills. Through this training,
the 8th grade BRAVE Ambassadors will be prepared to co-lead lunch time "Quality
Circles", conduct bully prevention classroom activities and speak to
groups of students and parents. All of the BRAVE Amabssadors participated
enthusiastically and demonstrated leadership abilities.
The BRAVE training workshop was conducted by Mrs. Beth Brill - 8th Grade BRAVE Ambassador Coordinator, Ms. Joanne Verdino - school social worker and Mr. Dave Herbert - 8th Grade Quality Circle Facilitator
