Jericho High School's Online Newspaper 



The JerEcho was just awarded Adelphi University's Quill Award for Best Online Newspaper. Senior Roxanne Tam won the Bronze Award for Best News Story. Junior Amanda Ritter won the Gold Award for Best Online Writing.

JerEcho writers were also winners Long Island University's Best of High School Journalism Awards. Best Feature Story (Broadcast)

On February 1, union protesters, holding signs to inform the public about the school’s decision to hire a non-union workforce, demonstrated outside the school grounds with an inflatable eighteen-foot-tall rat.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Business Affairs Victor Manuel, by law, he had to accept the lowest bid from a survey of eight bidders for the job, regardless of union membership. That company was De Rosa Construction, Inc.

Students Drive for Battle of the Classes

Students and teachers take a lot of time to prepare for this event in order to increase high school spirit. Ending Piracy through Censorship and What This Means for Jericho High School Students

“The internet will fail,” claimed a Newsweek column dating back to 1995. Fifteen some years later, it is not hard to see why this statement may be one of history’s more faulty forecasts. It is a quote that comes up when you search “failed predictions” on Google. It appears when you click though the online “Bad Opinion Generator,” and it makes its way around the internet via chain e-mails. Ironically enough, even Newsday’s own social media director whose responsibilities include maintaining the publication’s Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook pages has commented on the piece.
