Student Guide for Blackboard 9


 

  1. How do I log into Blackboard 9?

     With the new version on Blackboard you will now use your Jericho network username and password to log into Blackboard. 

  

 * You must have at least two characters for your password. If you have less than two characters, please change your password. To change it, press: Ctrl + Alt + Del and click on 'Change Password'. Put in your old password and then put in the new password twice to confirm there are no errors.


  1. I cannot open my teacher’s PDF attachment.  How can I view document?

 

To download Adobe Reader go to the website: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/

Select your operating system (Windows XP, Vista, or Mac OS)

 


 

  1. How do I find my courses?

 

After logging in to Blackboard, your classes will be listed on the upper left side in a field box call “My Classes” under the “My Institution” tab. Your classes are also listed under the “Classes” tab.


  1. What if my courses aren’t listed?

 If a class is not listed, speak to your teacher.  They might have made the course un-available for various reasons.  If it is still a problem, contact:

  1. Where is my homework?
     
    To find your homework, click on the desired class in the “My Classes” box.

Once you are on your class page.  You will see a folder in the left hand side with your class name as well as different folders. Click on the ‘homework’ link.   Your assignments will be displayed on the right hand side.

 

 

 


  1. I do not see the folders on the left hand side.  Where did they go?

 

There is a small arrow in between the course folders and the current folder view.  If you click on that arrow it will hide/unhide the folder on the left side. 

   

 


  

  1. How do I update my email address?

 

Under the “My Institution” tab, click on ‘Personal Information’

  

   

Click on ‘Edit Personal Information’

 

 In this new window you can update your contact information. 

Be sure to click submit when you are finished so your information will be saved.

 


 

  1. Who do I go to for help?
