AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM DMV:
As
of February 22nd, 2010, the following change to New York’s Licensing
Laws will affect young drivers:
Any teen that does not take a Driver Education course must complete at least
50 hours of
supervised practice driving with a parent,
guardian or driving instructor.
This must include at least 15 hours of driving
after sunset. The
parent,
guardian or
instructor must certify to the 50 hours of practice driving
on
DMV form MV-262 (Certification of Supervised Driving).
In the packets that I gave out the day of the exam is a sheet regarding
practice driving.
Please disregard the old form and replace it with

-----------------------------ABOUT------------------------------
Students 15 years or older* can take the learner permit test in school over
the internet. The tests are offered in Spanish or English and results are
immediate. Students who pass the online test will get a receipt and other
forms which they can take to any DMV office upon their 16th birthday and
apply for a permit. Students who do not pass the test can re-take the test
as many times as is necessary.
*Students are encouraged to wait until they are closer to their 16th birthday
(about 3 mths) before signing up.
-----------------------TEST INFORMATION----------------------
The learner permit test will be administered every Tuesday, on a B Week,
at 8:15 AM sharp in RM 262.
Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
All students are to bring proof of identification on the day of exam.
The only acceptable forms of identification are:
- Birth Certificate/Passport (photocopy accepted)
- School I.D.
- NYSDMV issued document.
Pre-registration is required for this service.
The deadline is Tuesday, of an A Week at 3 PM.
Registration will take place in Mrs. Dunckley's office in 262.
